Edison, N.J. - Loyola’s Michael Mulieri was named the MAAC Men’s Golfer of the Month, while Siena’s Katelynn Mannix was chosen as the Women’s Golfer of the Month.

Mulieri, a junior from Silver Spring, MD., opened the spring with medalist honors at the Carlton Oaks Invitational in California, winning the tournament with rounds of 72-74-73 (219). Mulieri then helped Loyola to a runner-up finish at the Fort Lauderdale Spring Classic, shooting rounds of 74 and 68 for a 36-hole 142. Earlier this week, Mulieri took sixth at the Diablo Grande Invitational, helping Loyola claim its first title of the spring. Mulieri posted rounds of 76-74-77 (227) at the tournament.

Mannix, a freshman from Plattsburgh, N.Y., led the Saints to a 17th place overall finish in the highly competitive Shamrock Invitational held earlier this month in Tega Cay, S.C. Mannix was most impressive during the final round when she fired a score of 74, second best of the round. For the weekend, Mannix shot a three round score of 240.

The 2008 MAAC Men’s & Women’s Golf Championships will be held April 25-27 at Disney's Magnolia Golf Course in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
