Moran, Bryan, and Jones Take Home Weekly Awards

TIM MORAN, VMI
M, So. 5-9, Florence, N.J./Holy Cross
Moran had a career day on Saturday against
Wagner, as the sophomore posted six goals and an assist. The six goals were not
only a career high for the Garden
State native, but also
were the third-highest total in VMI Lacrosse history. For the season, Moran now
has thirty points, on seventeen goals and thirteen assists.
MAAC Defensive Player of the Week
ROBERT BRYAN, PROVIDENCE
G, Jr., 5-7, Apex,
N.C./The Taft School
Bryan led the Providence
men’s lacrosse team to a 4-3 victory over MAAC foe Siena in four overtimes on March 29. Bryan held the league’s
top offensive team to just three goals in 75:58 minutes of action between the
pipes. He faced 38 shots from Siena,
made 11 saves and picked up five ground balls. Siena is the only team in the league
averaging double-digit goals per game (13.00) and the Friars held them to a
season-low three tallies.
MAAC Rookie of the Week
ADAM JONES,
CANISIUS
M, Fr., 5-10, Owen
Sound, Ontario/St. Mary’s
Jones led the Griffs’ offense
with three goals, including the game-winning score, in a 7-6 victory over Saint Joseph’s. The
freshman scored both of Canisius’ goals in the final period of play to help the
Griffs start 3-0 in MAAC play. Jones’ three goals marked the fourth time in
just six career games that the rookie has tallied a hat trick.
