Marist's Coley and Fairfield's Rys Named MAAC Tennis Players of the Week

Edison, NJ ? Marist sophomore Christian Coley was selected as the MAAC Men’s Tennis Player of the Week, while Fairfield’s Paulina Rys earned Women’s Player of the Week honors.

Coley was a double winner in this weekend's 7-0 win over Monmouth. Coley won a thriller in number one singles 6-7, 7-5, 12-10 over Ben Everden. He also teamed up with teammate Marcus von Nordheim for a win in first doubles over Everden and Tom Corrie. The duo won 8-4.

Rys, a sophomore, served up her first win of Spring Break with an impressive 6-2, 7-6(1) victory against Florida Gulf Coast’s Lauren Pfeiffer. In doubles, Rys and partner Dana Postupack, were edged, 8-4, against the Eagles. Overall, Rys is 5-10 in singles play.
