Coleman, White, and Mikel Selected as Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week

MAAC Offensive Player of the Week

KRISTEN COLEMAN, FAIRFIELD
M, Fr., 5-11, Potomac, Md./Holy Cross

Coleman burst onto the collegiate scene in her first two games for the Stags. She led the team with seven goals over the two contests, including a three-goal effort in a near upset of #13 Yale. She then tallied four goals in the win over Sacred Heart. Coleman scored the seven goals on 11 shots, 63.6 percent. She also had three ground balls.


MAAC Defensive Player of the Week

REBECCA WHITE, FAIRFIELD
M, Jr., 5-7, Spring Lake, N.J./St. Rose

White contributed on both sides of the field in the Stags 1-1 week. She leads the team in ground balls, 5, and caused turnovers, 5. In the near upset of Yale she had a team-best four caused turnovers, as well as picking up four ground balls. Against Sacred Heart, where she had more offensive minded stats (3G, 1A) she had a caused turnover and ground ball. She finished the week with five goals and an assist as well


MAAC Rookie of the Week

CAITLIN MIKEL, SIENA
A, Fr., 5-6, Rochester, N.Y./Irondequoit

Mikel had an outstanding week for the Saints, pacing the Green and Gold to their first win of the season. In Siena’s 19-8 win over Central Connecticut on Saturday, Mikel led all scorers, recording a hat trick while adding four assists for seven total points. Then in Monday’s loss to UAlbany, she picked up right where she left off, adding another goal and an assist to her already impressive freshman campaign. For the week, Mikel led the Saints posting four goals and five assists for nine total points and currently leads the team through the first three games of the season with ten points.
