Bisnott Earns Postgradute Scholarship from NCAA 3/6/2008 5:00:00 AM Niagara Media Relations Niagara, N.Y.- Niagara University's women's soccer senior Brittany Bisnott (Brantford, Ont.) was one of 58 NCAA student-athletes to be awarded educational grants through the NCAA postgraduate scholarship program, as announced by the association on Wednesday.Bisnott, who became Niagara's first First-Team Academic All-America since 2005, finished her athletic career with 136 points and 60 goals, both ranking third in program history. She carries a 4.03 grade-point average in criminology and criminal justice, and will attend law school at George Washington University after graduation."I am extremely proud of Brittany for all that she has accomplished at Niagara" head coach Peter Veltri said. "Not only has she been a terrific soccer player, but she has been an outstanding student. She has worked hard both academically and athletically throughout her career to earn this award. This is great for our program as well, as it shows our dedication to academics as well as athletics."The scholarships are awarded to student-athletes who excel academically and athletically and who are in their final year of intercollegiate athletics competition. The Association awards up to 174 postgraduate scholarships annually, 87 for men and 87 for women.
