MAAC Offensive Player of the Week
AMANDA BRUCIA, IONA
2M, Jr., 5-10, Woodland Hills, CA/Calabasas
Brucia led Iona to a 2-0 MAAC record this week as the Gaels improved
to 4-2 in conference play. She scored five goals, on 5-for-6 shooting, and
added three assists against St. Francis (NY). She followed that up with a five
goal, one assist performance versus Siena.
For the week, Brucia tallied 14 points on 10 goals and four assists.
MAAC Defensive Player of the Week
ELIZABETH DAVIS,
MARIST
G, Sr., 5-10, Albuquerque, NM/Valley
Davis recorded double-digit saves in all three of Marist’s
games this week. She recorded 18 saves and had five steals in the Red Foxes’
13-10 loss at Harwick. The senior bounced back with 10 saves and three steals
in a 16-7 win over Wagner, and had 15 saves in Marist’s 12-8 win over St.
Francis (N.Y.).
MAAC Rookie of the Week
JACKIE CROSBY, SIENA
C, Fr., 5-6, Poway, CA/Rancho
Bernardo
Crosby finished the week with 11 goals and three assists for
a total of 14 points. She scored six goals, including the game winner, in a win
at Villanova. Crosby followed that up with a five goal, three assist outing in
a tough 19-18 overtime loss against Iona. She
also recorded five steals and drew five ejections in the two games.
