Richard Curylo, Marist
Sophomore, SS, 6-0/180, Staten Island, N.Y./Monsignor Farrell
Curylo batted .571 this past week for the Red Foxes, going 8-for-14 with three runs scored and five RBIs. He also drew four walks, stole a base and hit two doubles. Curylo had a four-hit game at Hartford on April 22.
MAAC Pitcher of the Week
Bobby DiNuzzo, Iona
Senior, RHP, 6-2/190, Stony Point, N.Y./Rockland C.C.
DiNuzzo tossed a complete-game, two hitter in Iona’s 3-2 win over Fairfield on Saturday. He struck out a career-best 12 batters, and did not allow an earned run. After the Stags scored two unearned runs in the top of the third, DiNuzzo retired 10 straight before allowing an infield hit in the seventh. During the stretch, he struck out seven, including four straight at one point.
MAAC Rookie of the Week
Mason Heyne, Rider
Freshman, 3B, 6-2/215, Shrewsbury, Pa./Susquehannock
Heyne batted .333 (6-18) in a 4-1 week for the Broncs. He also collected seven runs scores, six RBI, a double and two home runs. In Rider’s series sweep over Niagara, Heyne went 4-for-9, five runs scored and three RBI.
