MAAC Player of the Week
Teresa Healy, Niagara
Freshman, 2B, 5-6, Las Vegas, Nev./Centennial
Healy batted 9-for-18 (.500), which includes four straight multiple hit games. She had a hand in all of Niagara’s wins this past week with six RBIs and six runs. Healy had a double and drew six walks over the six wins for the Purple Eagles. On the defensive side of things, she recorded eight putouts, with nine assists and no errors.
MAAC Pitcher of the Week
Sarah Minice, Fairfield
Freshman, RHP, 5-7, Bellevue, Wash./Sammamish
Minice earned four wins in a 4-1 week for the Stags, including three victories against MAAC opponents. The freshman tossed 15 scoreless innings in pitching back-to-back 1-0 shutouts against Rider, allowing four hits in each game and striking nine batters in the twinbill. Minice came back with a win over Manhattan the next day, allowing two earned runs and three hits to secure her 13th win of the season. She also picked up a non-conference victory against Hartford.
MAAC Rookie of the Week
Kristin Sito, Niagara
Freshman, OF, 5-5, Elyria, Ohio/Elyria
Sito went 9-for-21 (.429), with three multiple hit games. She had a hand in 17 runs for the Purple Eagles this weekend, driving in 11 RBIs and coming around to score six times herself. Sito hit four home runs during the course of six games, including a two home run game vs. University at Buffalo. She currently has nine home runs, the most in a single season by a Niagara freshman. Sito also recorded 13 putouts while committing no errors.
