Richard Curylo, Marist
Sophomore, SS, 6-0/180, Staten Island, N.Y./Monsignor Farrell
Curylo batted .500 (9-for-18) as Marist went 4-0 this past week. He had at least two hits in all four of the Red Foxes’ game, and had a three-hit effort against NYIT. In that game, he also had two RBIs and a home run to lead off the game. For the week, Curylo had four runs scored, three runs batted in, two extra-base hits and two stolen bases.
Pitcher of the Week
Josh Rickards, Marist
Junior, LHP, 5-11/170, Glenolden, Pa./Cardinal O’Hara
Rickards tossed a complete game in Marist’s win at Iona. He allowed just five hits, one run and one walk in the contest while striking out seven.
Rookie of the Week
Cam Stykemain, Niagara
Freshman, OF, 5-9/170, Defiance, Ohio/Defiance
Stykemain hit 7-for-11 (.636) with three runs and three RBIs in his first full week of action, helping the Purple Eagles take two of three games from Le Moyne. He opened the week reaching base all five times at Kent State, going 3-for-3, including his first career home run. Stykemain scored twice and knocked in two. He lined a pinch-hit single in the opening game of a three-game set against Le Moyne, and then went 2-for-3 in the 3-2 game two win as the leadoff hitter. In the series finale, the rookie outfielder slapped a single through the right side, and eventually came around to score the winning run in an 8-6 come-from-behind effort on Sunday. He currently owns a five-game hitting streak where he is 8-for-12 (.667).
