NCAA Announces New Governance Structure Appointments

Edison, NJ ? Representatives from the MAAC and five member institutions were recently approved for appointments for the reorganized governance structure by the Division I Board of Directors.
John Ritschdorff, the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs and the Dean of Academic Programs at Marist College, will serve on the Leadership Council. Its 31 members comprise the primary advisory group to the Board of Directors on strategic and policy issues.
Bill Maher, the Director of Athletics at Canisius College, will serve on the Legislative Council, the primary legislative body in Division I.
Barbara Church, Senior Associate Commissioner at the MAAC, will serve on the Academics Cabinet. This cabinet assumes jurisdiction over all academic matters, except those addressed by the Committee on Academic Performance.
Joyce Eggleston, Associate Athletic Director and Senior Woman Administrator at Siena College, will serve on the Amateurism Cabinet. This cabinet assumes jurisdiction over all pre- and post-enrollment amateurism issues.
Pat Lyons, the Director of Athletics at Iona College, will serve on the Championships and Sports Management Cabinet. This 31 member group will oversee a number of committees, including all sport committees and the Football, Men’s Basketball and Women’s Basketball Issues Committees.
Alison Sexton, Senior Associate Athletic Director for Internal Affairs and Senior Woman Administrator at Fairfield University will serve on the Recruiting Cabinet. This cabinet assumes responsibility over Bylaw 13 recruiting matters.
