Rider to Take on Cal State Fullerton in NCAA Baseball Championship on ESPNU

Edison, N.J. ? Rider University will take on No. 5 national seed and host Cal State Fullerton in the 2008 NCAA Division I Baseball Championship on Friday, May 30 at Goodwin Field. First pitch is slated for 11:06 p.m. EST, live on ESPNU.
Rider (29-26) won its first-ever MAAC Baseball Championship and the league’s automatic bid to the NCAAs with a 12-5 win over Siena College in Game 7 of the 2008 MAAC Baseball Championship. The Broncs will be competing in its ninth NCAA Regional since 1984 and their first since 1994. This will be Rider’s first regional appearance since the new 64-team format was adopted in 1999.
The Titans (37-19) are making their 30th overall postseason appearance in their 34-year Division I history and their 17th in a row. That is the third-longest active consecutive streak in the nation behind Miami (36 years) and Florida State (31 years).
No. 2 UCLA (31-25) will meet up with No. 3 Virginia (38-21) in the regional's first game on Friday at 7:06 p.m.
