MAAC Announces 2008-09 Administrative Fellows

Edison, NJ ? The MAAC announced today the appointment of its administrative fellows for the 2008-09 academic year ? Chris Herring (Championships), Alison Adamski (Compliance), and Christian Arnold (Marketing).

Herring is a recent graduate of Marquette University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in Political Science.  He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Sports Leadership through Northeastern University.  While at Marquette, the Stevens Point, Wisconsin native spent four years as a student manager for the men’s basketball team.

As championships fellow, Herring will be responsible for assisting the Associate Commissioner for Championships and the Director of Championships & Special Events with the preparation of MAAC championships, special events, community outreach programs and assisting the commissioner with meeting materials.

Adamski is a former student-athlete at St. John's University, where she competed for the Red Storm’s tennis team. She received the Rickard F. McSwiney Award that is given to the female student-athlete who "best typifies the St. John's woman." She graduated Cum Laude with a bachelor's degree in Sports Management in May 2007. Adamski is currently completing a master's degree at St. John's in Sports Management with a specialization in Coaching Leadership.

As compliance fellow, Adamski will assist the Senior Associate Commissioner with the conference’s compliance program, oversee the National Letter of Intent program, oversee the coaches’ certification program, collect and analyze squad lists, assist with the MAAC student-athlete advisory program, assist with the analysis of the EADA federal reporting forms and assist with the completion of the annual NCAA Special Assistance reporting form.

Arnold graduated from Canisius College in May of 2008 with a master’s degree in Sports Administration. He was an assistant coach for the Golden Griffin’s women’s basketball team last season after serving as a graduate assistant in 2006-07. Arnold also holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Canisius.

Arnold’s responsibilities include assisting with sponsorship sales and implementation. He will also be responsible for coordinating the FYE Campus Tour on the ten MAAC Campuses and supporting all MAAC Television operations.
