Cara Riley, Siena

Riley, a sophomore midfielder, scored both goals in a 2-2 tie against Sacred Heart and assisted on the game winner against Army in the 90th minute to help the Saints win the Governor’s Cup this weekend. One of her goals against Sacred Heart was a 30-yard blast off a free kick. Riley was named to the All-Tournament Team with her five points and helped keep the Saints undefeated at 5-0-1.
MAAC Defensive Player of the Week
Caroline Robert, Canisius
GK, Fr., 6-0, Ottawa, Ontario/E.S.P. Louis Riel
Robert, a freshman goalkeeper, gave up just one goal in the course of two Griff victories this past week. She made five saves in goal in 180 minutes of play. Robert earned her second career shutout in Canisius' 1-0 victory over Fairleigh Dicksinson.
MAAC Rookie of the Week
Ashleigh Barone, Siena
F, Fr., 5-6, Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa
Barone, a freshman forward, scored two goals and an assist in Siena’s 3-2 win over Army on Sunday. She scored the game winner in the 90th minute, and won Offensive MVP for the Governor’s Cup tournament in Albany. Siena won the Governor’s Cup by winning a tie breaker over Sacred Heart, outscoring them 5-3 during the tournament. Barone leads the league in goals (8), points (19), and game-winning goals (4) in six games played.
