MAAC Defensive Player of the Week

Brittany Henderson, Loyola

GK, Jr., 5-9, Commack, N.Y./Commack

Henderson, a junior goalkeeper, made six saves in two victories for the Greyhounds this past week.  She made four saves in the Greyhounds 2-1 victory over 28th-ranked Villanova on Friday afternoon. Villanova had a corner kick with less than 10 seconds remaining in the game, which Henderson punched out to the top of the box.  She also made a full-extension, one-handed punch save to secure the win for Loyola with one second remaining.  On Sunday, she recorded a shutout over American, saving the only two shots she faced from the Eagles.

Boudreau, a freshman goalkeeper, posted her third shutout of the year in picking up a double-overtime tie with Harvard, ninth in the Northeast region, and coming off a 1-1 tie with #15 Boston College in their last outing.  In the Stags’ lone game of the week, she made four saves, with two of those saves made in the final overtime period after corner kicks were played into the box by the Crimson.
