Thomas Bandov, Manhattan

Bandov, a sophomore forward, scored a total of three goals during the week for Manhattan, including two Saturday evening to lead the Jaspers to a 4-2 win over Howard University. He also scored the Jaspers’ lone goal in its 3-1 loss to Long Island University on Wednesday. Bandov is tied for the lead in goals for Manhattan with five on the season.
MAAC Defensive Player of the Week
Nils Binstock, Iona
GK, Jr., 5-11, 167, Toronto, Ontario/Vermont
Binstock, a junior goalkeeper, extended his shutout streak to 304 minutes over three straight games with Iona’s 2-0 victory over NJIT. He stopped both shots on goal that he faced in the contest for a pair of saves in his ninth career shutout and fourth of the season.
MAAC Rookie of the Week
Matt Turcio, Siena
F, Fr., 5-10, 185, LaGrangeville, N.Y./Arlington
Turcio, a freshman forward, scored a goal and had an assist on the other goal in a 3-2 overtime loss to Central Connecticut State. He registered the assist when he ripped a shot off the post that rebounded to teammate Bobby DiFilippo who finished the goal. Turcio scored his first career goal on a ball played into the box that was tipped by the goalkeeper. Turcio corralled the ball and finished it from two yards off the goal line.
