Fairfield to Host Loyola on February 1 on MSG Network

Edison, N.J. ? The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference continues its 2008-09 MAAC Basketball Television Schedule with Fairfield University hosting Loyola College on Sunday, February 1. Game time is slated for 2:00 p.m. at the Arena at Harbor Yard, and it will air live on the MSG Network.
Loyola is currently 11-12 overall and 6-5 in the MAAC. The Greyhounds are led sophomore guard Jamal Barney, who is registering a league-best 19.2 points and 5.7 rebounds per game, and junior guard Brett Harvey, who is averaging 13.7 points and 2.4 boards an outing.
Fairfield is now 13-9 overall and 6-5 in league play. The Stags are led by junior forward Greg Nero, who is averaging 13.3 points and 6.5 rebounds per game, and senior guard Herbie Allen, who is registering 7.4 points and 2.7 assists a night.
This contest marks the 45th meeting between the two programs. Last year, the teams split their regular season matchups with Fairfield earning a 69-67 win at Reitz Arena on January 4, while Loyola claimed a 67-63 win at the Arena at Harbor Yard on January 11. In the quarterfinals of the 2008 Citizens Bank MAAC Basketball Championship, the Greyhounds advanced with a 64-59 victory over the Stags. Fairfield holds a 30-14 advantage in the all-time series between the two schools.
