Times Union Center Hosts MAAC Basketball Doubleheader on ESPNU Friday

Edison, N.J. -- The Times Union Center will be the site for the first televised MAAC men’s and women’s basketball doubleheader this season on Friday, January 9.  Both games will air live on ESPNU, the 24-hour college sports network.

 

The first game of the twin bill will feature a match-up between the women’s programs from Rider University and Siena College at 4:30 p.m.  Rider, 0-3 in the MAAC, is led by junior guard/forward Tammy Meyers, who is contributing 13.1 points and 5.9 rebounds per game, and junior guard Amanda Sepulveda, who is posting 10.8 points and 3.8 rebounds an outing for the Broncs.  Siena, 1-2 in the MAAC, is led by senior forward Heather Stec, who is averaging 12.7 points and 8.4 rebounds a night, and junior guard/forward Allie Lindemann, who is adding 10.2 points and 2.3 rebounds a game for the Saints. 

 

Game two has the Broncs taking on the Saints for a 7:00 p.m. tip-off.  Rider, 3-0 in the MAAC, is led by junior guard Ryan Thompson, who is registering 17.5 points and 6.8 rebounds a night, and senior guard Harris Mansell, who is contributing 11.8 points and 4.5 caroms a night for the Broncs.  Siena, 4-0 in the MAAC, is led by junior guard/forward Edwin Ubiles, who is averaging 14.1 points and 4.9 rebounds an outing, and junior forward Alex Franklin, who is registering 13.3 points and 6.7 rebounds a night for the Saints.
