MAAC Offensive Player of the Week

KATIE MANN, FAIRFIELD

MB, Sr., 5-11, Del Mar, CA/Torrey Pines

Mann continued her strong play for the Stags averaging 4.57 kills on .379 hitting and 5.43 points per set. She also collected three blocks, three aces, three assists, and eight digs to help Fairfield to a 2-0 week. Mann started things off with 16 kills, six digs, and a pair of aces in the 3-1 victory over Siena. She was instrumental in the Stags' fourth-set comeback over the Saints, serving three straight points, including a service ace which put Fairfield on top 24-23. In the 3-0 win over Saint Peter's, Mann tallied a match-high 17 kills on .519 hitting and registered two blocks, two assists, and two digs.

MAAC Defensive Player of the Week

ALLISON NIETERS, IONA

L, Jr., 5-9, St. Charles, MO/Lutheran

Nieters led a stellar Iona defensive attack in two MAAC wins this weekend over Saint Peter's and Marist.   Nieters recorded 52 digs (7.43 / set) including her 25th career, and second 30+ dig effort of the season with an even 30 vs. the Red Foxes.  She was a perfect 23-for-23 on serve receptions in the match as Iona held an opponent without an ace for the first time this season.  As a team the Gaels held their two opponents to a .161 hitting percentage.

MAAC Rookie of the Week

SAMANTHA GOOD, CANISIUS

MH, Fr., 5-10,Rochester, NY/Greece-Arcadia

Good led the Canisius offense for the third consecutive weekend as the freshman averaged 3.44 kills per set in two Canisius road victories. Good had 13 kills and five blocks in the five-set win at Loyola. The Rochester, N.Y. native then had a team-high 18 kills to go along three service aces and seven digs - both career highs.
