Griffs Take Home MAAC Cross Country Weekly Awards

Edison, NJ – Canisius’ Vasilis Kariolis and Maura Frauenhofer were named the MAAC Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Runners of the Week, respectively.
Kariolis, a senior from West Hurley, New York, placed second in a field of 68 runners at the Monmouth Invitational on Saturday. With his time of 27:28, he led the Griffs to a second place finish among nine schools. It is the best finish for the team outside of the Little Three.
Frauenhofer, a junior from Williamsville, New York, placed first in a field of 80 runners at the Monmouth Invitational on Saturday with a time of 18:54. With her finish, the Griffs placed first among ten schools. It is the best finish for the team outside of the Little Three.
The 2009 MAAC Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Championships will be held on October 30 at Van Cortlandt Park in Riverdale, New York.
