Edison, NJ – Brennan Morris of Loyola University Maryland was named the MAAC Men’s Swimmer of the Week, while Rider University’s Kellyanne Tomasula was chosen for the women’s award. Rider’s Paul Apostolakis was selected as the Men’s Diver of the Week, while fellow Bronc Amanda Burke earned the women’s honor.

Morris, a freshman from Lutherville, Maryland, set a Loyola school record Saturday in the 400-yard individual medley, swimming a time of 3:56.96, taking nearly a second off the previous best. His time was also better than that of the current MAAC Record. Morris, a member of the 2009 U.S. World Championships Team, not only won the 400 IM, but he took first in the 200-yard breaststroke and the 500-yard freestyle. He was a part of four winning relay teams as well – the 400-yard medley, 200-yard freestyle, 800-yard freestyle and 400-yard freestyle.

Tomasula, a senior from Sussex, New Jersey, won the 100 backstroke (57.34), the 200 backstroke (2:07.19) and the 100 butterfly (58.81) as Rider narrowly defeated Lehigh 150-146.

Apostolakis, a senior from Brooklyn, New York, won both the 1-meter dive (309.15) and the 3-meter dive (283.80) in Rider’s meet at Lehigh.

Burke, a senior from Churchville, Pennsylvania, won both the 1-meter dive (272.02) and the 3-meter dive (251.40) in the Broncs victory over Lehigh. Burke has now won four consecutive MAAC Diver of the Week awards and 11 of the last 13 dating back to last season.
