RACHELE FITZ, MARIST

Senior, Forward, 6-0, Seven Hills, Ohio/Trinity

Fitz opened the season with 30 points and nine rebounds in Marist's 80-64 win over North Carolina A&T on Friday night in the WNIT. The senior scored 30 points for the third time in her career, making 12 of 15 (80%) shots from the field. She was also 6-for-8 from the free throw line and added four assists.

 

MAAC Rookie of the Week

KATELYN LINNEY, FAIRFIELD

Freshman, Guard, 5-8, Freehold, N.J./St. John Vianney

Linney scored the Stags first basket of the season, 90 seconds into team's win over Rhode Island and didn't stop.  She finished as the game's leading scorer with 17 points, reaching double-digits in her first collegiate game by halftime.  The guard hit 4-of-9 from behind the arc and finished shooting 53.8 percent from the floor.  Linney also added two assists, two rebounds and a steal in her 32 minutes as a starter.
