Edison, NJ – Brad Reeser of Loyola University was named the MAAC Men’s Swimmer of the Week, while Rider University’s Brianna Burns was chosen for the women’s award. Marist College’s Brian Bolstad was selected as the Men’s Diver of the Week, while Rider’s Amanda Burke earned the women’s honor.

Reeser, a senior from Glen Mills, Pennsylvania, won both individual events he entered and helped the Greyhounds to a relay victory on Saturday, as Loyola defeated Georgetown, Seton Hall and Lafayette in dual-meet action. Reeser won the 50-yard freestyle in 21.55, edging the Pirates’ Stan Sadovsky by 0.02 seconds. He then took first in the 100-yard freestyle, winning in 47.70. Reeser was also a member of the 400-yard freestyle relay team that sealed the victories for Loyola in the final event.

Burns, a junior from Chestnut Ridge, New York, won the 200 free (1:54.44), the 50-yd. freestyle (24.87), the 100-yd. freestyle (53.29), and swam on the pool record setting 400-yd. freestyle relay (3:34.74) to help Rider edge Marist, 151.5-148.5.

Bolstad, a junior from Highland, New York, won his third straight 3-meter diving event in a dual meet at Rider last Saturday with a score of 289.05, as he defeated Paul Apostolakis of Rider, a US National qualifier. His second place finish on the 1-meter board with a score of 279.30 gave him an average score of 284.18 in the two events on the weekend, which is more than three points better than the average score of Apostolakis.

Burke, a senior from Churchville, Pennsylvania, won both the 3-meter dive (288.75) and the 1-meter dive (318.75) in the Broncs victory over Marist. Burke has now won three consecutive MAAC Diver of the Week awards and ten of the last twelve dating back to last season.
