MAAC Offensive Player of the Week

BURGANDY McCURTY, SIENA

OH/MB, Sr., 5-9, Port Washington, NY/Schreiber

McCurty had a 60-kill weekend, averaging 6.7 kills per set in two big MAAC wins over Canisius and Niagara.  She had a career-high 33 kills in the victory over Canisius, hitting .407 for the match and adding nine digs.  The next day, she helped the Saints clinch a MAAC Championship berth with a 27-kill, 18-dig effort in a five-set win over Niagara.  The nation's leader, and MAAC's all-time leader in kills, surpassed 1,900 for her career this weekend and now has a legitimate shot at passing 2,000 for her career. 

MAAC Defensive Player of the Week

KARA REIS, FAIRFIELD

L, Fr., 5-9, Ramona, CA/Poway

Reis had another strong week for the Stags, posting a pair of 25+ dig matches for an average of 6.00 digs per set. She also registered a reception percentage of .952 to help Fairfield to a 2-0 week. In the win at Loyola, Reis posted a career-high 29 digs to go along with two assists and a service ace. In the win at St. Peter's, she tallied 25 digs and an ace.

MAAC Rookie of the Week

AUBREY KIRVEN, LOYOLA

S, Fr., 5-7, Hartville, OH/Lake

Kirven led an offense that out-hit, out-killed and out-scored opponents last weekend. In 10 sets, the freshman setter amassed 112 total assists for an average of 11.20 per set. Sunday against Manhattan, Kirven extended her career-high assist number with 65. Against Fairfield, Kirven had a match-high 47 assists, seven digs and three kills. Defensively, Kirven had 17 kills and two blocks, and also helped the offense with six total kills.
