Duffy, Nyback Earn MAAC Indoor Track Weekly Awards

Edison, NJ - Manhattan College's Daniel Duffy and Andrea Nyback were selected as the MAAC Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field Performers of the Week, respectively.
Duffy, a 5-10 freshman from Washingtonville, New York, took first in both the triple jump (13.83m) and long jump (6.68m) at the Brother Jasper Invitational held at Manhattan’s Draddy Gym. Both leaps were personal bests and qualified him for the Metropolitan Indoor Championships.
Nyback, a 5-7 freshman from Koping, Sweden, set a Manhattan school record in the pentathlon with 3,717 points at the Brother Jasper Invitational. Nyback’s performance qualified her for the ECAC Indoor Track and Field Championships. She put up her 3,717 points by posting an 8.0 second time in the 55m hurdles, a 1.59m mark in the high jump, a 10.89m mark in the shot-put, a time of 2:33.70 in the 800m run, and a 5.90m distance in the long jump. The long jump mark was also an ECAC qualifying distance and the second longest in program history.
The MAAC Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track and Field Championships will be held on Friday, February 19th at The Armory Track & Field Center in New York City.
