RIVERDALE, N.Y. - Three-time All-MAAC selection Kevin Nieto was named to the 2010 Louisville Slugger Preseason All-American Third Team as selected by Collegiate Baseball newspaper. The Miami native is coming off a career year where he hit a team-best .396 and helped lead the Jaspers to its second consecutive MAAC Regular-Season Championship.
Nieto started 45 of 46 appearances last season and led all of Division I with 1.57 runs per game. He led the MAAC in runs scored (72), slugging percentage (.754), and ranked in the top-5 for triples (2nd - 6), on-base percentage (2nd - .480), batting average (2nd - .396), stolen bases (3rd - 25), home runs (t-4th - 13) and total bases (4th - 141).
