Mujanovic, Gibbs Take Home MAAC Indoor Track Weekly Awards

Edison, NJ - Manhattan College’s Seid Mujanovic was selected as the MAAC Men’s Indoor Track Performer of the Week, while Loyola University’s Whitney Gibbs earned the Women’s Performer of the Week award.
Mujanovic, a 6-0 foot senior from Travankut, Serbia, posted a mark of 19.24m at the Manhattan College Opener Meet to qualify for both the IC4A Indoor Track and Field Championships and the Metropolitan Indoor Championships. He finished second in the event to Manhattan graduate Thomas Jacob Freeman, who qualified for the USA Track and Field Championships with his throw.
In her first two collegiate meets, Gibbs set three individual school records, and anchored the 4x200 relay team to a program-record as well. At the Navy Blue & Gold Meet on November 17, Gibbs broke both the 60m and 200m records in times of 7.82 and 26.63, respectively. This past Saturday at the Ursinus Winter Invitational, Gibbs broke the 55m school-record in 7.58 and anchored the 4x200 relay to a 1:49.89, shattering the only record by nearly six seconds.
The MAAC Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track Championships will be held on Friday, February 19th at The Armory Track & Field Center in New York City.
