Marist Pair Sweep Indoor Track Weekly Awards

Edison, N.J. ? Girma Segni of Marist College was named MAAC Men’s Indoor Track Performer of the Week, while teammate Addie DiFrancesco earned the women’s award.
Segni, a senior from Bronx, New York, ran a personal-best 8:23.25 in the 3000-meter run at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational. The time qualified him for the IC4A Championships. Segni’s Performer of the Week win ends a four-week stretch in which the men’s award went to a Manhattan College athlete.
DiFrancesco, a freshman native of Waterbury, Connecticut, ran the fourth-fastest 3000-meter in Marist history at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational. Her time of 10:09.45 is a 17-second improvement on her personal best and qualified her for the USATF Junior Nationals.
The MAAC Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track Championships will be held on Friday, February 20th at The Armory Track & Field Center in New York City.
