Loyola Hosts MAAC Basketball Doubleheader on February 13 on ESPNU

Edison, N.J. ? Loyola College’s Reitz Arena will be the site for the next televised MAAC men’s and women’s basketball doubleheader this season on Friday, February 13. Both games will air on ESPNU, the 24-hour college sports network.
The first game of the twin bill will feature a match-up between the women’s programs from Niagara University and Loyola at 6:00 p.m. Niagara, 0-13 in the MAAC, is led by junior guard Jennifer McNamee, who is registering 12.3 points and 1.5 rebounds per game, and sophomore forward Liz Flooks, who is averaging 10.0 points and 5.3 caroms a night for the Purple Eagles. Loyola, 3-10 in the MAAC, is led by senior guard Siobhan Prior, who is contributing 12.5 points and 2.1 rebounds per game, and junior forward Kaitlin Grant, who is posting 10.7 points and 7.8 rebounds an outing for the Greyhounds.
Game two has the Iona College men’s team taking on host Loyola for a 9:00 p.m. tip-off. Iona, 6-8 in the MAAC, is led by senior forward/center Gary Springer, who is averaging 11.3 points and 7.1 rebounds per game, as well as freshman guard Scott Machado, who is contributing 9.5 points and 4.8 assists an outing for the Gaels. Loyola, also 6-8 in the MAAC, is led by sophomore guard Jamal Barney, who is averaging a league-high 18.8 points along with 5.5 rebounds an outing, and junior guard Brett Harvey, who is netting 12.9 points and pulling down 2.5 boards a night for the Greyhounds.
