Greg Logins, Canisius
Sophomore, Forward, 6-7, 240, Sodus, N.Y./The Kent School
Logins, a sophomore forward, averaged 19.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 1.0 assists per game last week as the Golden Griffins won two road games at Loyola and Bowling Green. He shot 48.3 percent (14-for-29) from the field and 42.9 percent (3-for-7) from 3-point range, while also knocking down 87.5 percent (7-for-8) of his tosses from the free throw line. Against Loyola, Logins scored all 19 of his points in the first half, and followed that effort with 19 points in the Griffs’ overtime win at Bowling Green. In that game, he scored 10 of his points in the final 25 minutes, highlighted by the eventual game-winning basket with 1:14 left in the overtime session.
MAAC Rookie of the Week
Scott Machado, Iona
Freshman, Guard, 6-1, 180, Queens, N.Y./St. Benedict's Prep (N.J.)
Machado, a freshman guard, posted 5.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game in the Gaels' two contests last week. He posted nine points, eight assists and four rebounds against MAAC leader Siena on Monday night.
