Canisius to Host Fairfield on February 6 on ESPNU

Edison, N.J. ? The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference continues its 2008-09 MAAC Basketball Television Schedule with Canisius College hosting Fairfield University on Friday, February 6. Game time is slated for 7:00 p.m. at the Koessler Athletic Center, and it will air live on ESPNU, the 24-hour college sports network.
Fairfield is now 14-9 overall and 7-5 in league play. The Stags are led by junior forward Greg Nero, who is averaging 13.5 points and 6.9 rebounds per game, and senior guard Herbie Allen, who is registering 7.6 points and 2.7 assists a night.
Canisius is currently 7-15 overall and 2-10 in the MAAC. The Golden Griffins are led by junior guard Frank Turner, who is averaging 15.1 points and 4.1 assists per game, as well as sophomore guard Julies Coles, who is contributing 12.1 points and 3.6 rebounds an outing.
This contest marks the 65th meeting between the two programs. Fairfield won the first meeting this season with a 63-60 victory over Canisius at the Arena at Harbor Yard on January 11. The Stags hold a 34-30 advantage in the all-time series between the two schools.
