Two MAAC Student Athletes Honored by NJAIAW

Edison, N.J. ? Two student athletes from the MAAC were recently honored on the National Girls and Women in Sports Day by the New Jersey Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women.
Priscilla Modrov, a senior at Rider University, is one of the most decorated swimmers in Bronc history. She was named the MAAC Female Swimmer of the Year as a freshman in 2006 and again during her junior year in 2008. Modrov also earned ECAC Swimmer of the Meet honors in 2008 after setting an ECAC record in the 400 IM. The owner of four MAAC records, five Rider records and six Coppola pool records, she is also a two-time member of the MAAC All-Academic Team. Modrov and her brother, Brandon, a 2007 graduate, were featured in Sports Illustrated’s “Faces in the Crowd” in the spring of 2006.
Katherine Sura, a senior libero on the volleyball team at Saint Peter’s College, is a psychology and elementary education major who had been inducted into Kappa Delta Pi, an international honor society in education, and Psi Chi, a national honor society in psychology. She played for four years on the Peahens’ volleyball team, serving as team captain for two years. Sura is in her third year on the Student Athletic Advisory Committee and as a peer educator.
