Manhattan Hosts MAAC Basketball Doubleheader on February 9 on MSG Network

Edison, N.J. ? Manhattan College’s Draddy Gymnasium will be the site for the next televised MAAC men’s and women’s basketball doubleheader this season on Monday, February 9.  Both games will air on the MSG Network.

 

The first game of the twin bill will feature a match-up between the women’s programs from Iona College and Manhattan at 6:00 p.m.  Iona, 6-7 in the MAAC, is led by junior guard Thazina Cook, who is registering 14.1 points and 6.8 rebounds per game, and sophomore forward Anda Ivkovic, who is averaging 13.4 points and 4.6 caroms a night for the Gaels.  Manhattan, 4-8 in the MAAC, is led by senior center Kelly Regan, who is contributing 12.7 points and 7.1 rebounds per game, and junior guard Michelle Pacheco, who is posting 9.6 points and 3.1 rebounds an outing for the Jaspers. 

 

Game two has the Iona men against Manhattan for an 8:00 p.m. tip-off.  Iona, 6-7 in the MAAC, is led by senior forward/center Gary Springer, who is averaging 11.4 points and 6.9 rebounds per game, as well as freshman guard Scott Machado, who is contributing 9.3 points and 4.9 assists an outing.  Manhattan, 7-6 in the MAAC, is led by sophomore guard Chris Smith, who is averaging 14.4 points and 4.7 rebounds an outing, and junior guard Darryl Crawford, who is netting 12.2 points and pulling down 4.0 boards a night for the Jaspers.
