Peterson looks to top her
goals total from 2008 as she was second on the team in goals this weekend at
the Marist Invitational. Peterson scored
a goal in the opening game against Utica and added two more, with two kickouts
drawn in the loss to Brown. She broke
out for five goals in Iona’s win 15-8 win over Siena to give the Gaels a 2-2
record for the weekend. Peterson is tied
for second on the team in goals with 10 and is first in total points with 21.

Link started three games for Iona at the Marist
Invitational and went 1-2 with 27 saves.
She had 11 saves in the loss against Hartwick, six in the loss to Brown
and 11 in the victory over Siena. She
also had five steals. She has a .508
save percentage so far this season.
MAAC Rookie of the Week

Leonard had her best
weekend in the Maroon & Gold so far with 10 goals as the Gaels went 2-2 at
the Marist Invitational. Leonard scored
a pair of goals and added an assist in the Gaels’ 14-2 win over Utica. Leonard netted her first career hat trick in
the 18-11 loss to Hartwick. She also had
a kickout drawn and a steal. Leonard
netted two more goals with two steals, and two kickouts drawn in the 13-7 loss
to Brown. She finished the weekend with
a hat trick, four steals and a pair of assists in the 15-8 win over Siena.
