Niagara to Host Rhode Island in 2009 NIT

Niagara Univ., N.Y. - The Niagara University men's basketball team (26-8) has been selected to host a first-round game in the National Invitation Tournament against the University of Rhode Island (22-10) on Tuesday, March 17 at 7:00 p.m.
This marks the 13th NIT berth for the Purple Eagles and second for 11-year head coach Joe Mihalich. The 2004 Niagara squad defeated Troy State in the first round.
Niagara Athletics has announced that it will keep ticket prices the same for the NIT game. Chairbacks will be $15 while general admission will be $10. Season Ticket holders will have first priority of their seating.
The Dywer Arena Ticket Office will be open from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Please call 716-286-TIXX (3499) for tickets. There will be no internet purchasing for this contest.
Student tickets will be $5 and can be picked up in the Gallagher Center Ticket Office beginning at 11 a.m. on Monday. There will also be a pregame tailgate party outside the Gallagher Center at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday with free food and a live band.
