MAAC Player of the Week
Brittany Eckett, Rider
Sophomore, 3B, 5-6, Jackson, N.J./Jackson Memorial
Eckett batted .500 and had a slugging percentage of 1.250, leading Rider to a 3-1 week, including a three-game winning streak. She had hits in all four games, and homered three times with four runs scored and five RBIs. Eckett had an on-base average of .600 for the week.
MAAC Pitcher of the Week
Sarah jackson, Iona
Freshman, RHP, 5-8, Citrus Heights, Calif./Del Campo
Jackson earned her first collegiate victory in a complete-game four-hitter vs. Florida A&M in the Gaels’ 7-2 win. She struck out 11 batters in seven innings of work. Jackson also had a hit and a stolen base in the contest.
MAAC Rookie of the Week
Lindsay Durant, Marist
Freshman, INF, 5-5, Martinsville, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan
Durant had a 3-for-10 weekend with all extra-base hits in three games at the UMBC Tournament. She had a six RBI day, including a grand slam, her first home run of the season on a 2-for-4 day at the plate against Hampton on March 15. Durant had two RBI a day earlier on a two-run scoring double in an 8-0 victory over the same Hampton team. She ranks third on the team and first among freshmen in batting average, and is second on the team in RBI, with all eight coming over the weekend.
