HEATHER STEC, SIENA

Senior, Forward, 6-2, Cazenovia, NY/Cazenovia

 

Stec scored a career-high 30 points and had a season-high 18 rebounds in a double-overtime win at Loyola Saturday afternoon. She scored all six of her team’s points in the first overtime, including a fade-away jumper to tie the game with 25 seconds left. Stec hit 6-of-7 from the free throw line and had four steals and three assists.

 

MAAC Rookie of the Week

 

ALYSSA HERRINGTON, MANHATTAN

Freshman, Guard, 5-8, Cambridge, NY/Mount Anthony Union

Herrington averaged 13 points while shooting .474 (9-of-19) from the field .615 (8-of-13) from three-point range as the Lady Jaspers split with Saint Peter’s and Fairfield last week.  She also averaged 2.5 rebounds, three assists and two steals in the two games.  Against Saint Peter’s onm Monday night, Herrington had 12 points on four three-pointers and added four rebounds, three assists and three steals in the 56-55 loss.  In the 67-59 victory over Fairfield in Saturday’s regular season finale, Herrington tallied 14 points, shooting .500 (5-of-10) from the field and .800 (4-of-5) from downtown, while also dishing out three assists.  She drained eight treys in the two games and has made 71 three-pointers this season, three away from the Manhattan single-season record.
