Ryan Thompson, Rider
Junior, Guard, 6-6, 210, Mt. Laurel, N.J./Lenape
Thompson, a junior guard, averaged 20.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists over two wins in the final weekend of regular season play for the Broncs. He netted 19 points, including the game-winning layup, in Rider's 77-75 win at Loyola. Thompson then recorded 22 points, including two free throws with 14 seconds left, in Rider's 73-69 win over Fairfield.
MAAC Co-Rookies of the Week
Anthony Winbush, Loyola
Freshman, Forward, 6-7, 180, Arlington, Va./T.C. Williams
Winbush, a freshman forward, averaged 14.5 points and 4.0 rebounds in a 1-1 week for the Greyhounds. He shot 58.8 percent from the floor (10-17), 75 percent from three-point range (3-4) and made all six of his free throws during the week, bettering his career scoring high in each outing. Winbush made five of seven from the field for 12 points with six rebounds against Rider . He followed that by making three of his four attempts from beyond the arc en route to a team-high 17 points in the win at Iona.
Novar Gadson, Rider
Freshman, Guard/Forward, 6-7, 213, Philadelphia, Pa./John Bartram
Gadson, a freshman guard/forward, averaged 12.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game in a 2-0 week for the Broncs. He scored 12 points and grabbed five rebounds in just 13 minutes of play at Loyola. Gadson followed that up with 12 points and nine rebounds in the win over Fairfield.
