Antenor, Baker, Kajunski Win Outdoor Track Weekly Awards

Edison, N.J. ? Louis Antenor of Saint Peter’s College was named MAAC Men’s Outdoor Track Performer of the Week.  Ashling Baker of Iona College and Kelly Kajunski of Rider University were named MAAC Women’s Outdoor Track Co-Performers of the Week.
 
Antenor led the Peacocks 4x100 relay team to a third-place finish at the Dick Shea Invitational at the United States Military Academy. Their time of 42.25 seconds was good enough to win their heat and qualify for the IC4A Championships. Antenor won the 400-meter dash in a time of 49.80 seconds and finished second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.42 seconds.

Baker took home the 1500-meter title at the Dick Shea Invitational.  She topped teammate Leonie Smith by more than five seconds with a time of 4:38.23, and was eight seconds ahead of the third-place finisher.   There were 61 competitors in the 1,500-meter race field.  More than 20 schools and 800 athletes competed in the unscored event.

Kajunski won the high jump at the Lafayette College 8-Way Meet with an ECAC qualifying height of 5'7".  She out-jumped competitors from Lafayette, Lehigh, St. Joseph’s, and more on the way to her victory.  Kajunski was named MAAC Women’s Indoor Track Performer of the Week on two occasions earlier this year.
 
The MAAC Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track Championships will be held on Saturday and Sunday, May 2 and 3, at Rider University in Lawrenceville, New Jersey.
