MAAC Offensive Player of the Week

 

ANDREA DOLNAY, ST. FRANCIS (NY)

A, So., Budapest, Hungary/St. Margaret

 

Dolnay scored 10 goals as the Terriers split their MAAC doubleheader with Iona and Marist this past Saturday at Villanova. Dolnay, who now leads the Terriers with 38 goals, recorded a career-high 6 goals in the Terriers 10-7 loss to Iona.  She also added a pair of steals and drew three ejections.  The Budapest, Hungary native followed that up with four goals and an assist in the Terriers 10-7 win against Marist in the second game.  The sophomore scored two goals in the crucial fourth period as the score was tied 5-5 heading into the final frame.

 

MAAC Defensive Player of the Week

 

JESSICA GETCHIUS, MARIST

GK, Jr., 5-7, Simi Valley, CA/Royal

 

Getchius finished the week with 38 saves and an 8.33 goals against average. She made 16 saves in a non-conference match against Hartwick. Getchius followed that up with back-to-back 11 save performances, including a win against Wagner in which she allowed just five goals.

 

MAAC Rookie of the Week

 

MACKENZIE MONE, IONA

UT, Fr., 5-8, Temecula, CA/Chaparral

 

Mone finished the MAAC weekend in Philadelphia strong as the Gaels went 2-0 and took over sole possession of first place in the conference. Mone netted a hat trick with an assist and a steal in the victory over St. Francis (NY). In the overtime win against Siena, Mone put three more in the back of the net with another steal and another assist. Mone’s six goals were tied for the team-best on the weekend with Amanda Brucia.
