Johnson, Kajunski Win Outdoor Track Weekly Awards

Edison, N.J. ? Albert Johnson III of Manhattan College was named MAAC Men’s Outdoor Track Performer of the Week, while Rider University’s Kelly Kajunski earned the award on the women’s side for the second time in the outdoor season.

Johnson, a freshman, competed in three events at the Larry Ellis Invitational at Princeton University.  He was the top collegiate finisher in the long jump with an NCAA qualifying mark of 7.39-meters.  He also won the overall triple jump gold medal with a 14.46-meter mark.  To round out his weekend, he finished 11th in the 200-meter dash, with a time of 21.96 seconds.
   
Kajunski, a senior, qualified for NCAA Regional competition by winning the high jump with a height of 5 feet, 8.75 inches.  She also finished 11th in the triple jump with a distance of 10.93 meters.  This marks the third time that Kajunski has made the NCAA meet. This year’s regional meet will take place May 29-30 in Greensboro, North Carolina.  

The MAAC Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track Championships will be held on Saturday and Sunday, May 2 and 3, at Rider University in Lawrenceville, New Jersey.
