Zielinski, Mannix Win Golf Monthly Awards

Edison, N.J. ? R.J. Zielinski of Fairfield University was named MAAC Men’s Golfer of the Month for April, while Katelynn Mannix of Siena College was named MAAC Women’s Golfer of the Month for the third time this year.
Zielinski, a senior, opened the CSU Spring Kick-Off with a round of 67, the low round of the event. He finished that tournament with a three-round 223, good for seventh place overall. He placed sixth overall at the New England Division I Championship, shooting a 74 in the opening round, with a nine-hole score of 38 on day two for a +5 finish. Zielinski is currently competing at the Mount St. Mary's Spring Invitational in preparation for this week’s MAAC Championships.
Mannix, a sophomore from Plattsburgh, N.Y., competed in the Mount St. Mary’s Spring Invitational, leading Siena to a 4th place finish, just ahead of fellow MAAC rival Fairfield. She finished that tournament eighth overall, shooting rounds of 77-75-85 (237 total).
The MAAC Men’s and Women’s Golf Championships will be held April 23-26 at Celebration Golf Club in Celebration, Florida.
