Marist Claims 7-6 Win over Wagner in 2009 MAAC Water Polo Semifinal

Poughkeepsie, N.Y. ? Third-seeded Marist College earned a 7-6 win over second-seeded Wagner College in the second semifinal of the 2009 MAAC Women’s Water Polo Championship, held at Marist’s McCann Natatorium.
Marist (17-13) will play top-seeded Iona College (22-7) for the championship title at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 26. Wagner (16-12) will face St. Francis (N.Y.) College (8-12) in the consolation game tomorrow at noon.
The championship winner will earn the league’s automatic bid to the 2009 NCAA Division I Women’s Water Polo Championship.
