Meyer, Davis and Agostini Earn MAAC Baseball Weekly Honors

MAAC Player of the Week

 

Kyle Meyer, Marist

Senior, OF, 6-0/195, East Greenbush, N.Y./Columbia

Meyer hit .692 with two home runs and 12 runs batted in as Marist went 3-1 this past week.  He went 9-for-13 and added four runs scored, two stolen bases and four hit by pitches.  His on-base percentage for this past week was .765 while he slugged 1.154.  Against Siena on April 26, Meyer went 4-for-4 with eight runs batted in, as he belted a three-run homer and a grand slam in consecutive innings.  In a doubleheader at Siena on April 25, Meyer went 2-for-3 with two RBIs in both games.  He stole two bases at Vermont on April 22.  He concluded the week with an eight-game hitting streak.   

 

 

 

MAAC Pitcher of the Week

 

Shane Davis, Canisius

R-Sophomore, LHP, 6-0/185, Belmont, Ont./East Elgin Secondary

Davis threw his third consecutive complete game victory in a 9-2 victory over Manhattan on Saturday.  The lefty allowed eight hits, two runs, one earned and one walk while striking out four in his seven innings of work.  In his last three starts, Davis has allowed three earned runs in 21 innings while walking one and striking out 20.

 

 

 

MAAC Rookie of the Week

 

George Agostini, Marist

Freshman, 3B/DH, 5-11/205, Rehoboth, Mass./Dighton-Rehoboth

Agostini hit .312 (5-for-16) with an on-base percentage of .421 and a slugging percentage of .438 as Marist went 3-1 this past week.  He scored six runs and drove in two, while adding a pair of doubles and three walks.  Agostini scored two runs in all three games of Marist’s conference series at Siena on April 25-26.  In the series finale on April 26, he went 3-for-5 with a double, a walk, two runs scored and two runs batted in.
