Jaspers Sweep Outdoor Track Weekly Awards

Edison, N.J. ? Milan Jotanovic of Manhattan College was named MAAC Men’s Outdoor Track Performer of the Week, while teammate Siri Fagerlund earned the award on the women’s side.
Jotanovic, a 6'0” senior thrower from Travankut, Serbia, won the gold medal in the Championship section of the college men’s shot put event at the Penn Relays. He had a winning throw of 19.76 meters to finish ahead of the University of South Carolina’s Jason Cook and Florida State’s Michael Putnam. That mark bests both the IC4A and NCAA Regional qualifying standards.
Fagerlund, a 5'5” sophomore from Helsingborg, Sweden, won the gold medal in the women’s 100-meter hurdles in 14.59 seconds at the Yale Springtime Invitational. She also ran the leadoff leg as the Lady Jasper women’s 4 x 100 relay team won gold with a time of 47.89 seconds, qualifying them for the ECAC Championships.
The MAAC Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track Championships will be held on Saturday and Sunday, May 2 and 3, at Rider University in Lawrenceville, New Jersey.
