MAAC Offensive Player of the Week

 

ASHLEY GRAY, CANISIUS

M, Sr., 5-3, Baldwinsville, NY/C.W. Baker

 

Gray led the Canisius attack during the perfect 2-0 week, totaling 14 points, 11 goals and three assists. The senior posted eight points in the victory over Iona, matching a career-high with six goals and adding two assists. Gray then followed with six points, five goals and one assist in Canisius’ 17-7 victory over Manhattan. During the two games, Gray also added five caused turnovers, three ground balls and one draw control.

 

MAAC Defensive Player of the Week

 

ALLISON DALEY, CANISIUS

GK, So., 5-4, Peterborough, Ontario/Crestwood

 

In the Griffs two victories during the weekend, Daley posted a goals against average of 7.34 and a save percentage of .588. Daley was most impressive during the second half of play when Canisius outscored opponents, 20-4. During the second frame, Daley recorded a goals against average of 4.41 and a save percentage of .750. The sophomore stopped four shots in the opener and then followed with a 16-save performance against Manhattan.

 

MAAC Rookie of the Week

 

CHRISSY GUTENBERGER, MANHATTAN

M, Fr., 5-6, Stony Point, NY/North Rockland

 

Gutenberger scored a total of 12 goals on the week, including 6 goals in the Lady Jaspers 17-3 win over Niagara. She also tallied 4 goals in Manhattan’s 14-12 win over Iona and 2 goals in the Lady Jaspers loss to Canisius. The 12 goals for the week were scored on just 25 shots. She also added 2 assists in the Niagara game and 1 assist in the Iona contest.
