MAAC Announces 2009-10 Administrative Fellows

Edison, NJ ? The MAAC announced today the appointments of Meredith Mullins (Championships) and Joe McCleese (Compliance) as its administrative fellows for the 2009-10 academic year.
Mullins recently graduated from Canisius College with a master’s degree in business administration. She also received her undergraduate degree at Canisius (Bachelor of Science in Business Management) and played for four years on the Golden Griffins women’s basketball team. Mullins worked as a graduate assistant at Canisius, where she was responsible for updating the Economics/Finance Department website. She also assisted the MAAC staff at the 2009 MAAC Basketball Championships, distributing media credentials and helping with the operation of the post game press conferences.
As championships fellow, Mullins will be responsible for assisting the Associate Commissioner for Championships, the Director of Championships & Special Events, and the Assistant Director of Championships with the preparation of MAAC championships, special events, community outreach programs and assisting the commissioner with meeting materials.
McCleese is also a graduate of Canisius College, recently completing a Master of Sport Administration. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in sport sciences from Ohio University and an associate’s degree in legal assisting from Shawnee State University. McCleese was previously employed as a manager at Canisius’ Koessler Athletic Center. He has also spent time as a paralegal and substitute teacher. McCleese also served as an assistant at the 2009 MAAC Championships.
As compliance fellow, McCleese will assist the Senior Associate Commissioner with the conference’s compliance program, oversee the National Letter of Intent program, oversee the coaches’ certification program, collect and analyze squad lists, assist with the MAAC student-athlete advisory program, assist with the analysis of the EADA federal reporting forms and assist with the completion of the annual NCAA Special Assistance reporting form.
