Kowalski, Boudreau and Cahalan Earn MAAC Women's Soccer Weekly Honors

MAAC Offensive Player of the Week

SYLVIA KOWALSKI, CANISIUS
F, Sr., 5-6, Hamilton, Ontario/Cathedral

Kowalski, a senior forward, registered three goals and one assist for seven points in a 2-0 week for the Griffs. She scored the game-winning goal and aided in another in Canisius' 3-0 victory at Delaware State. At Fairleigh Dickinson, Kowalski netted her second goal of the game, seventh of the season, on a high blast from 25 yards out of the box, just 1:56 into overtime to seal the 3-2 win. She leads the MAAC in scoring with seven goals and four assists for 18 points.

 

MAAC Defensive Player of the Week

KELLY BOUDREAU, FAIRFIELD
GK, So., 5-8, Farmington, Conn/Farmington

Boudreau, a sophomore goalkeeper, posted her first clean sheet of the season, playing the entire 90 minutes to shut out Hartford, 4-0. She was credited with two saves in the victory, while also breaking up three crosses in front of the crease.

 

MAAC Rookie of the Week

CAITLIN CAHALAN, SIENA
F, Fr., 5-1, Cohoes, N.Y./Shaker

Cahalan, a freshman forward, scored two goals and had two assists in two wins for Siena. She scored Siena's first goal and assisted on the game winner in 2-1 overtime win at Providence. Cahalan assisted on the team's first goal and scored the game winner against Holy Cross in the 81st minute, running onto a through ball and firing it past the keeper to the left. For the week, Cahalan put six of her 11 shots on goal and tallied six points. She leads the team with eight points.
