Vess, Burns Named MAAC Cross Country Runners of the Week

Edison, NJ – Marist’s Adam Vess and Brittany Burns were selected as the MAAC Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Runners of the Week, respectively.
Vess, a sophomore from Cromwell, Connecticut, continued his dominant start to the 2009 cross country season, winning the Boston University Invitational Sunday afternoon. Vess covered the 8K course at Franklin Park in Boston in 24:55, finishing 12 seconds ahead of second-place finisher Eric Ashe of Boston University.
Burns, a senior from Watertown, New York, led the Marist women's cross country team with a second-place finish at the Boston University Invitational at Franklin Park in Boston. Burns ran a personal-best 18:30 over the 5K course.
The 2009 MAAC Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Championships will be held on October 30 at Van Cortlandt Park in Riverdale, New York.
