MAAC Offensive Player of the Week
Jasmin Corniel, Fairfield
F, So., 5-7, Yonkers, N.Y./Gorton
Corniel, a sophomore forward, led the Stags with nine points on the week, netting four goals to lead the Stags to a 3-0 week. She had her second career multi-goal game on Sunday in the win over Stony Brook, including the game winner, in which she dribbled through two defenders and lifted the ball over the keeper. Corniel beat the goalie for an insurance goal in the 2-0 win over Holy Cross on Friday night. She also had a goal and an assist in the win over Bryant.
MAAC Defensive Player of the Week
Brittany Henderson, Loyola
GK, Sr., 5-9, Commack, N.Y./Commack
Henderson, a senior goalkeeper, allowed just one goal in a 1-0-1 road week at highly touted American University and at Old Dominion University. In a 2-0 shutout victory, her conference-leading third shutout of the season, Henderson stopped seven shots as the Eagles held a 13-6 shot advantage. She came up with another seven saves in a double overtime tie at ODU, as the Monarchs attempted 17 shots on the day.
MAAC Rookie of the Week
Caitlin Cahalan, Siena
F, Fr., 5-1, Cohoes, N.Y./Shaker
Cahalan, a freshman forward, scored one goal and had one assist in a 3-0 week for Siena. She tallied the game winner at Albany when she received a pass from Cara Riley, turned and shot it past the goalkeeper. Cahalan assisted on Siena's first goal against Vermont on Sunday when she passed to Kaitlyn Sharo at the left side of the box and she beat the goalkeeper to the far post. She leads the Saints with four goals and 11 points this season.
