Heslin, Mulvihill Selected as MAAC Runners of the Week

Edison, NJ – Fairfield’s Benjamin Heslin was named the MAAC Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week, while Canisius’ Christine Mulvihill was selected as the Women’s Runner of the Week.
Heslin, a junior from Kensington, Connecticut, finished seventh out of 112 runners at the Leeber Invitational on Sept. 26. Heslin traversed the men's 8K course with a personal best of 25:49. As a team, Fairfield placed third out of nine teams.
Mulvihill, a sophomore from Remsen, New York, led the Golden Griffins’ women's squad to a first place finish at the Little Three, matching her personal best time, set last week, of 19:08 on the 5K course. Her time reflects a 24 second drop from her previous personal best time.
The 2009 MAAC Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Championships will be held on October 30 at Van Cortlandt Park in Riverdale, New York.
